Product Review : Everyday Favorites

 He decidido hacer reviews de maquillaje y otros productos de belleza. Hablare de lo que me gusta y no me gusta de cada uno, características y precios. En esta ocasión hablare de mis productos favoritos que uso todos los días. También los explicare en el orden en el que los uso. Cabe resaltar que estos productos son los que uso para lograr un maquillaje muy simple para el día,el de noche es distinto.

I have decided to do reviews for makeup and other beauty products. I will talk about what i like and don't like about each product, their characteristics and prices. In this occasion i will talk about my favorite products which i wear everyday. I will also explain them in the order i apply them. However, these products are the ones that i wear for a very simple day look, the ones i use at night are different.

Antes que nada se debe comenzar por limpiarse la cara bien y así eliminar las impurezas. El primer paso para lograr un buen maquillaje es tener una piel limpia y sana.

First of all, you have to start off by cleaning your face and therefore eliminating impurities. The first step for a good makeup is a clean and healthy skin.

 Empiezo por usar un corrector para disimular las ojeras, manchas e imperfecciones. Yo lo aplico con los dedos porque así es mas rápido pero también se puede hacer con una brocha pequeña. Es importante saber que el color del corrector no debe ser mucho mas claro que el color de la piel o este se vera como parches de otro color en la cara.

He probado muchos correctores y hasta ahora este es mi favorito. Es el "Select Cover-Up" de  M.A.C. Es liquido pero no se siente pesado una vez que es aplicado. Cubre bastante y es fácil de difuminar.

I start off by using concealer to cover dark circles, skin discolorations and imperfections. I apply the concealer with my fingers because it is faster that way but you can also do it with  a small brush. It is important to know that the color of the concealer should not be extremely lighter than the skin tone or it will look like you have patches of different color on your face.

I have tried many concealers and so far this is my favorite. Its the "Select Cover-Up" by M.A.C. It is liquid but it doesn't feel heavy once it is applied. It has full coverage and its easy to blend.

 Trato de no ponerme base durante el día pero si la necesito, esta es mi primera opción. Se llama "Pro Longwear" y es de M.A.C. Lo que me gusta es que cubre mucho pero no se siente pesada en la cara. También me gusta que tiene protector solar. Esta base la recomiendo bastante en especial para el clima húmedo de este país. Esta base es de larga duración y debe ser sellada con polvo.Otra cosa que me encanta es que no es aceitosa, lo que la hace una excelente opción para personas con piel grasa o mixta.

Lo que no me gusta es que se seca rápido en la cara y por eso no da mucho tiempo para trabajarla. Hay que aplicarla rápido. Se debe aplicar con una brocha. Yo generalmente la aplico con las manos y por lo tanto debo lavarlas rápidamente porque se manchan un poco .

Lo otro que no me gusta es el precio. Es bastante cara. Llegando casi a los $40. Aunque para mi los vale porque es un excelente producto.

I try not to wear foundation every single day but if i need to, this is my first option. Its called "Pro Longwear" by M.A.C. What i like about this foundation is that it offers complete coverage but it does not feel heavy when applied. I also like that it has SPF. I really recommend this foundation, specially because of the hot and humid climate of this country. This foundation lasts a long time but it has to be sealed with powder. Another thing i really like is the fact that its not oily, which makes it an excellent option for people with combination or oily skin.

What i don't like is the fact that it dries quickly and therefore you don't have too much time to work with it.You have to apply it fast. It should be applied with a foundation brush. I generally apply it with my hands but then i have to wash them really fast because it stains them a little. The other thing i don't like is the price. It is pretty expensive, almost $40. Thought this foundation is completely worth the money.

  Una opción mas barata de base es "Colorstay" de Revlon. Esta base tiene características muy similares a la de M.A.C pero su precio es mas accesible.

Al aplicarla no se siente pesada, también cuenta con protector solar (aunque menos que "Pro Longwear") y también es de larga duración. Aunque no dura tanto como "Pro Longwear". 

Hay dos opciones, una para piel normal y otra para pieles grasas/mixtas.

Esta es mi segunda opcion de base. La venden en las farmacias Arrocha y cuesta alrededor de $16.

A cheaper option is the Revlon "Colorstay" foundation. This foundation has similar characteristics to M.A.C's , but it has a more accessible price.

When applied, it doesn't feel heavy , it has SPF as well (less than "Pro Longwear") and also, it lasts a long time.Although not as long as "Pro Longwear".

This foundation comes in two options, one for normal skin and one for combination/oily skin. This is my second option for foundation. It is sold in farmacias Arrocha and it costs about $16.

 

Las dos bases que mencione deben ser selladas con polvo para  garantizar su larga duración. Mi favorito se llama "Select Sheer/Loose" que es un polvo suelto de M.A.C.

Este polvo me gusta porque cubre bastante pero a la vez da un efecto natural y no se nota que uno esta usando maquillaje. Este polvo es especialmente bueno para cubrir el molesto brillo que sale en la cara.

Este producto lo uso todos los días y siempre lo llevo conmigo.

Este polvo cuesta alrededor de $23.

 The two foundations i mentioned need to be sealed with powder in order for them to last longer. My favorite is called "Select Sheer/Loose" which is a loose powder from M.A.C.

I like this powder because it offers a lot of coverage at the same time it gives a natural effect and you can't tell that you are wearing makeup. This powder is specially good at covering that annoying shine you can get on your face.

I use this product everyday and i always carry it with me.

It costs about $23.

Para aplicar el polvo, uso una brocha "Kabuki". Hay varias opciones en las farmacias Arrocha y a varios precios. Van desde $5 a $10. Si son de marca, pues si son mas caras. Me gusta esta brocha porque difumina bien y ayuda a lograr una aplicacion uniforme y natural.

To apply the powder, i use a "Kabuki" brush. There are several options at the farmacias Arrocha and many prices as well. They range from $5 to $10. If they are a particular brand, they will be more expensive. I like this brush because it helps blend  and  achieve a uniform and natural application.

 Luego de terminar con la cara, Paso a los ojos. Para este tipo de maquillaje extremadamente simple, solo me pongo delineador negro para resaltar los ojos. Mi favorito es el "Colorstay" de Revlon. Dura bastante, es fácil de aplicar y no se corre.

After i am done with the face, i move on to the eyes. For this extremely simple makeup, i just use black eyeliner to intensify the eyes.My favorite is Revlon's "Colorstay". It lasts a long time, its easy to apply and it doesn't smudge.

Luego paso a las pestañas. Para lograr darles esa forma curva uso este aparato de Panasonic que por medio de calor le da forma a las pestañas. Lo venden en Panafoto y cuesta alrededor de $15. Funciona con baterías.

Solo toma segundos lograr unas pestañas muy bonitas.

Then i move on to the eyelashes. To curve them, i use this device from Panasonic which uses heat  to shape the eyelashes. It is sold at Panafoto and it costs around $15. It works with batteries.

It just takes a few seconds to achieve beautiful eyelashes.

Si quiero mantener las pestañas en esa posición, debo aplicar Mascara. Esta opción es transparente, lo que ayuda a que el maquillaje se vea mas natural. Esta mascara se llama "Professional natural lash mascara" y es de Covergirl. Se quita fácilmente con agua y jabón. Cuesta alrededor de $6 en las farmacias Arrocha.

If i want my eyelashes to keep that shape, i have to apply Mascara. This particular option is transparent, which helps the makeup have a more natural look. This mascara is called "Professional natural lash mascara" and its from Covergirl. It is easily removed with water and soap. It costs around $6 at the farmacias Arrocha.

 Si quiero darle mas volumen e intensidad a las pestañas entonces uso esta mascara que se llama "Colossal Volume Express" y es de Maybelline. Esta es una de mis favoritas y la recomiendo por su intensidad y larga duración.

If i want my lashes to have more volume and intensity i use this mascara called "Colossal Volume Express" from Maybelline. This is one of my favorite mascaras and i highly recommend it because it lasts a long time and also because of the intensity it brings to the eyes.

 Luego paso a los labios. Lo primero que hago es delinearlos. Mi lápiz favorito para esto es uno de la marca Trucco. Pero estos productos ya no están a la venta y por lo tanto paso a mi segunda opción. Los "Lipliners" de Prestige son una muy buena opción y vienen en varios tonos. En lo personal me gusta que sean un poquito mas oscuros que mis labios y luego los difumino un poco.

Ponerse delineador de labios da el efecto de tener labios mas rellenos, definidos y ademas ayuda a que el lipstick no manche la piel fuera de los labios. Estos "Lipliners" los venden en las farmacias Arrocha y cuestan alrededor de $5.

Afterwards, i move to the lips. The first thing i do is use a lipliner. My favorite one is from Trucco, but these products are no longer for sale and therefore i move to my second option. Prestige "Lipliners" are a very good option and they come in several colors. I like them to be a little bit darker than my natural lip color and then i blend them in.

Using lipliner gives the effect of having fuller and more defined lips, it also avoids lipsticks from staining the skin next to the lips. These "Lipliners" are sold at the farmacias Arrocha and the cost around $5.

 Por ultimo me aplico este balsamo para los labios. Se llama "Tinted Lip Conditioner" y es de M.A.C.

Lo que me gusta es que tiene protector solar y ademas viene en varios tonos. Entonces hace las veces de chapstick y de lipstick en un solo producto. Este producto también lo uso todos los días y siempre lo llevo conmigo. 

Si quiero usar lipstick, lo aplico por encima y así mis labios están protegidos todo el día. Este producto cuesta alrededor de $15 pero dura mucho tiempo. Aun usándolo varias veces, todos los días.

The last thing i use is this lip balm. It is called "Tinted Lip Conditioner" and its from M.A.C.

What i like is that it has SPF and also comes in several colors, therefore working as both a chapstick and a lipstick in just one product. I also use this product everyday and i always carry it with me.

If i want to use lipstick, i apply it on top and then my lips are protected all day. This product costs around $15 but it lasts a long time. Even if you wear it several times a day, everyday.
